The Norton boys track and field team won in thrilling fashion yesterday (5/4) at Westwood. The meet came down to the relay, and Westwood has the best ranked 4x400 relay team in the league. Norton dug deep and posted the fastest TVL relay this year (3:34.7) by 5 seconds and won!
Emerson Almeida set the record in the 400 (50.5) while winning that, the 200, and second in the long jump.
Kam Campbell won the 400 Hurdles, the High Jump, and placed second in the 110 High Hurdles.
Gil O'Neil won the Mile and 800.
Tim Johansmeyer won the Triple Jump, Long Jump, and was part of the winning 4x400 team.
Brian Desmond, Eric Dzengeleski, John Sicard, and Andrew Swiderski also were critical to this fantastic win. Yesterday's meet is what track and field is all about. You all stepped up big time and some of you ran the fastest you have all season and that is what we needed for the win!
Also, congrats to these people who made states:
John Sicard - 400
Tim Johansmeyer - Long Jump
Keegan Campbell - 800
Let's go into Hop-town on Thursday and show them some Norton pride!
