Congrats to the Norton boys team who defeated Ashland 73-13 and Medway 56-30 at Holliston on Saturday. The Medway meet remained close until Jon Sicard (high jump) and Mason Roulliard (1000) closed the deal in the meet. Kevin Rogers won all FOUR of his races with the mile and 2 mile. Jon Sicard was the big man on campus winning the dash, 300, and second in the high jump scoring a Norton leading 24 points! Keegan Campbell remained consistent on the bos side winning the high jump and 1000 on both sides and was a member of the boys winning 4x400 meter relay. Brian Acker (600), Ben Donovan (hurdles), and Shawn Ferrini (shotput) were also all winners on the day. The athlete of the day on the boys side was Mason Roulliard for his gutsy comeback performance in the 1000 and taking second and posting a 2:57!!
The girls lost to Ashland 44.5-40.5 and brought it down to the relay against Medway and needed to win the relay to get the tie 43-43. Emma Ethier led the charge in the tri-meet for the Lancers scoring a leading 18 points and winning both the hurdles and the 600. Following Emma, Becca Sargent was PERFECT on the day winning the 300, the high jump, and winning the 4x400 relay. Courtney Williams and Jess Greco also had some very strong performances. The athletes of the meet on the girls side was the 4x400 relay team of Elizabeth Laverghetta, Becca Sargent, Stacie Linfield, and Megan Elliot who, under an immense amount of pressure, won the relay to make the meet a tie.
Congrats to all the winners!!!
Norton's next meet will be the Division 4 State Relays on Sunday 1/23!
