Girls Track Team Sweeps Three Events In A Win Over Ashland Despite Downpours & Strong Winds

Strong gusts of wind and intermittent downpours didn't stop the girls from running, jumping & throwing their way to their 4th victory on the season. The 2 mile, discus & 4X400 relay were cancelled due to thunder & lightning however, the girls already had enough points to secure the win.

Rachel Meyer had a great day winning the 400 meter hurdles and finishing 2nd in the triple jump. The team swept the 400 hurdle event with Emma Ethier 2nd & Alison Lynch 3rd.

The team also swept the High Hurdles led by Emma Ethier in 1st place, Alison Lynch in 2nd & Amanda Schleicher taking 3rd.

The 800 meter run was dominated by Norton in another sweep. Annie Ledbetter jumped out to a quick lead which she held onto for nearly the entire race. Close behind were teamates Allison Alioto and Alexa Dosreis. Alexa made her move coming out of the final curve with Allison on her heels. It was a fight to the finish with all three finishing within one second of each other. Alexa took first with Allison only .05 of a second behind and Annie a step away.

Courtney Williams continues to be undefeated in the 100 meter dash. Kajsa Tenglin also remains undefeated in the javelin

Brianna Arcaro had an impressive day with a 30' throw in the shot put. That throw qualified her to compete in the State Tournament at season's end.
