The Norton girls beat Bellingham last Thursday 98-34.
This improves the girl's record to 3 wins and 0 losses for 2011.
Emma Ethier had a big day winning the 100 & 400 M hurdles. Alison Lynch was right behind Emma in both races.
Courtney Williams remains undefeated in the 100m & Long Jump. Courtney also anchored the winning 4X100 relay team. The relay team also includes Jill Allard, Alison Dufault, and Erin Kennedy.
Stacie Linfield was switched into the mile where she picked up a first place.
Nicole Anderson took first in the 400 meters followed by freshman Rachel Meyer in second place. Freshman Alexa Dosreis may have found her spot by winning the 800 meter race. Freshmen Erin Kennedy took first in the 200 meters and had a personal best in the triple jump for 2nd place.
Rebekah Sargent won the High Jump and qualified for States in that event. Rebekah had previously qualified for States in the 400 meters.
Kajsa Tenglin won the Javelin. Kajsa's throw of 104' 5" vs. Holliston on 4/11 sets a new school record. Congrats go to Kajsa and throwers coach Mike Brito.
The team also won the 4X400 relay, run by Alexa Dosreis, Stacie Linfield, Rebekah Sargent, and Niki Anderson. Jessica Greco won the 2 mile.
I'd like to mention those that give us the depth to pull out these wins. Amanda Schleicher in the 100 & 400 hurdles and the shot put. Olivia Karcis in the mile. Allison Alioto and Annie Ledbetter in the 800 meters. Alison Dufault & Rachel Meyer in the 200 meters. Brianna Arcaro & Shannon O'Rourke in the shot. Amanda Sullivan in the javelin & 800 meter. Tori Gesualdo in the discus.
Lets take a look at our IR (injured reserves). Senior captain Jill Wry has been out all season. We hope she will join the team real soon to add some depth to our High Jump team and sprinters. Meagan Elliott and Natalie Sharpe are also sprinters that will be rejoining the team soon. We just got Erica Callahan back which will add to our distance crew. Becca Wayslow, Erin Feeney and Hannah Lee are suffering nagging injuries but should be cleared by the end of April vacation.
See you at practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00.
Coach Seibert
