Norton Boys Beat Medfield for First Time in TVL History! (& Beat Medway in the Meantime!)

The Norton boys track team made history tonight beating Medfield for the first time in TVL history! The boys won 51-34. They also beat Medway 66-19. The boys move to 5-2 on the season with one regular season matchup left against Bellingham.

Jon Plummer was the leader on the day for the boys scoring a staggering 24 varsity points between the two meets. He was first in the high jump and 300 on both sides and took a second and a third in the 45 dash.

Senior captain Brain Gannon had a standout day winning the 45 dash in both meets and placing 2nd in both meets in the 300 meters.

Mason Rouillard won the 1000 meters on both sides and anchored the winning 4x400 meter relay.

Ramzi Bechara won the 45 hurdles on both sides with a 6.3.

Billy Sullivan took a first and a second in the 2 mile with an 11:04.0.

Joey Hallgren took a first and a second in the shotput with a throw of 38'6.5".

Kevin Rogers - 2 second places in the mile, 4x400
Dan Lenihan - 2nd & 3rd in the 600, 4x400
Ben Donovan - 2 second places in the 45 hurdles

The Norton girls track team lost on both sides. The girls lost 39-46 versus Medway and 36.5-49.5 versus Medfield.

Rebekah Sargent scored a huge 19.5 points on the day with a first and third in the 45 dash, a first and second in the 300, and two second place finishes in the high jump.

Erin Kennedy also had a good day with 11 points with two firsts in the high jump and a third in the 45 dash.

Finally, Emma Ethier also had a good day with 11 points with two firsts in the 4 hurdles and a third in the 300.

Norton's next meet will be the State Coaches Meet on Saturday January 28th at the Reggie Lewis Center at 9:30 a.m.
