Even though it might not have been a win against Medfield for the girls, it was still a very successful day. Our Lady Lancers held their own throughout the meet posting 9 first place wins, 3 second places, and 5 third places. The top point scorers for the team were: Courtney W. (11.25) with 1st in the 100m and 1st in Long Jump while qualifying for states in both, Kelly A.(10) with a 1st in both Shot Put and Discus and qualifying marks in both for states as well, Caroline A. (10) with a 1st in 400m dash and 200m, Laura J. (8) for a 2nd in the 400 Hurdles and 1st in 100m Hurdles qualifying her for states in the 100m Hurdles, and Kajsa T.(5) with a 1st in the Javelin. I would also like to mention the win of the 4 x 100 team of Courtney W., Jill W., Brianna V., and Amanda S., and additional points scored by Alison L., Erica C., and Amanda M. For our spot light athlete of the meet who demonstrated tremendous achievement, much credit has to be given towards Emily H. who not only took a 3rd in Shot Put with 28' 2" and a 2nd in discus with 86' but for getting two personal best throws! It has been quite a long time since our team has been able to put up such a great fight against Medfield. On behalf of Coach Brito, Taylor, and I, congrats on such an amazing accomplishment, we are truly ecstatic to see such success so early in the season and look forward to seeing what you all have to bring to the next meet.
