Norton Comes Closest Ever to Beating TVL Foe Hopkinton 40-46; Sullivan Shatters Old School Record in the 2 Mile!!

The Norton boys track team came the closest they have ever come to beating the Hopkinton Hillers in the history of the TVL 40-46.  The Hillers had too much for the Lancers tonight as their depth took them over the edge. 

Some of the leagues top times and jumps came out of this meet as the matchup of two of the best teams in the TVL came to a head in week 3 of the season.  Kevin O'Leary lead the team with 10 points winning the high jump with a lead leading jump of 5'10" and winning the dash with a time of 5.4.  Jack Keane won the shot with a mammoth throw of 44'7".  Brandon Durocher won the hurdles with a 3rd best time in the league of 6.5. The Norton boys 4x400 stepped up to win the race with Mason Rouillard, Mike Tierney, Nate DiOrio, and Danny Lenihan.

Billy Sullivan broke Andrew Swiderski's (2009-2010) record in the 2 mile of 10:34 by running a 10:24.7 and qualified for states today.  

Mason Rouillard ran a second best time in the TVL this year with a time of 2:47.8.

2nd Place - Danny Lenihan - 600 Meters
3rd Place - Mike Tierney - 1000*** STATE QUALIFIER!!
3rd Place - Max Marcotte - 1 Mile***STATE QUALIFIER!!
3rd Place - Nate DiOrio - 600

Norton will next compete against Ashland High School at Hopkinton on Thursday, January 3rd!
