Norton Boys Win TVL Championship Meet by an 88 Point Margin, One of the Largest Margins in Recent History!


     What an incredible day for the undefeated Lancer boys at the TVL CHAMPIONSHIPS coming off of a team championship this past Sunday in Bellingham at the D4 Mass Relays.  The boys went to Westwood and proved their worth as they won conference meet in more than convincing fashion.  The Norton boys scored 163 points, outdistancing second place Hopkinton by 88 points for second who scored 75.  Team results are below:

1.) NORTON - 163
2.) Hopkinton - 75
3.) Medfield - 62
4.) Dover-Sherborn - 56
5.) Holliston - 48.50
6.) Medway - 28
7.) Bellingham - 24
8.) Westwood - 20
9.) Millis - 19.50
10.) Ashland - 0


The boys had numerous Tri-Valley League Champions!  They are as follows:
Mike Tierney - 400 Meters & 400 Hurdles
Camden Cleathero - High Jump & 110 Hurdles
Abu Ceesay - 100 Meters & 200 Meters
Justin Ireland - Long Jump 
Cam Stalters - Javelin
Griff McLaughlin, Chris Wrenn, Sean Cappellini, & Nick Reynolds - 4x400

The boys also had numerous athletes place in the top 6 for points.  Those athletes are:
2nd - Justin Ireland - 100 Meters & 200 Meters
2nd - Mike Tierney - High Jump
2nd - Elliot Ariola - Javelin
2nd - Chris Wrenn - 800 Meters
2nd - Cam Stalters - 110 Hurdles
2nd - Camden Cleathero, Jeff Beaucage, Adam Winairz, & Abu Ceesay - 4x100 Relay
3rd - Joey Annand - 2 Mile
4th - Joey Annand - 1 Mile
4th - Adam Winairz - 200 Meters
5th - Alex Buchan - Javelin
6th - Colin O'Leary - 400 Hurdles
6th - Alex Carginan - 110 Hurdles

Footage from the 11.38 times that both Ceesay and Ireland ran in the 100 finals for the win.  Ceesay edged out Ireland by a thousandth of a second to place 1st and 2nd overall!
The team celebrated their victory after the meet with the trophy ceremony where the captains received the trophy and the team took pictures. 

After an incredible and historic week for Norton Track, they look ahead and stay focused at the Division 4 State Championship in Norwell is coming up on Sunday, May 31st!
