Nortons Boys & Girls Teams go 3-0-1 Versus Tough Holliston and Medfield Squads; In Very Exciting Fashion, 3 of the Meets Come Down to the Relay; Both Teams Stay Undefeated on the Season (Boys 4-0, Girls 3-0-1)!

Second meet of the season wins by both teams!
Boys beat Holliston 54 to 32 and Medfield 47 to 39.
Joey Annand and Austin Carroll go 1-2 in the mile! 
Lots of improvement by most runners and the freshmen and sophomores are showing their strength. Distance runners Austin Carroll, Joey Annand, DJ Nihill , Jordan Lach and Freshman Ethan Tetrault were the top finishers.  Chris Tatarczuk and Ryan Lafrancois improved their 1000m by over 10 seconds from last week.

Sprinter Dan Salvo had great races in the 55 and 300m and Alec Weeman and Chris Junkins were close behind.

Hurdlers Brodey Tinkham and Corey Stalters had good showings in the 55 hurdles and
Ian Pereira, Aiden Lerner and Ben Pescod ran great 600 m races.

Eddie Mercado won the high jump at 5'8" and the shotputters got a first from Sam Marcotte, while Andrew Raneri, new to the scene, captured a third place.

The meet against a very tough Medfield  team came down to the relay for the win and the 4x400 team of Ian Pereira, Eddie Mercado Jr. , Brodey Tinkham and Nick Reynolds was able to pull off a victory to clinch the win in 3:45.

The girls team beat Medfield 45 to 41 and tied with Holliston 43 to 43!

Sarah Driscoll had a great day winning the high jump with a PR of 4'10" and finishing 2nd in hurdles. Katie Bradley was a double winner in the mile and 2 mile with strong running from Shelly Belcher and Hannah Kubinki. Julia Palin claimed first in the 600, Kambrynn Bowman first in the 1000, and Bella Berardi won the 300.   Most runners bettered their times from last week.

Like on the boys side, it came down to the 4 x 400, only BOTH girl's meets were on the line and the team of Berardi, Palin, Bowman, & Belcher pushed hard in this barnburner to help get the win to beat Medfield and tie Holliston!

Last week the Coaches started something new:

Lancer Track buttons will be given out to the male and female athlete that the coaches would like to recognize.Workouts through the week, attitude, improvements, and performance on meet days all play into this.

Sunday the Lancers travel to Boston for the WINTER FESTIVAL MEET at the Reggie Lewis Center starting at 10:00 AM!  It will be long but exciting, especially for "Newbies".
