Pietrasiewicz Just Misses PB at the MIAA All-State Meet

With her runner-up finish at the MIAA Division 4 Championships, sophomore Isabella Pietrasiewicz qualified and competed in the 1,000m run at the MIAA All-State Championships, pitting the best in the state of Massachusetts against each other with berths to the New England Championships on the line.

Racing out of the first heat, Pietrasiewicz took an aggressive charge to the lead pack in order to put herself in contention to break 3:00. The rest of the field, however, stuck around and made it a difficult race for everyone. Pacing through 800m at 2:26, Pietrasiewicz stuck on hard to finish fifth in her heat and 15th overall, besting her seed position by four spots. Her time, 3:04.94, just missed her personal best of 3:04.31 set last weekend at the Division 4 Championships.

Up Next: Both Pietrasiewicz (Mile) and senior captain Austin Carroll (800m) will race tomorrow at the BU Last Chance Meet.
