Boys (0-3)
While the majority of points came from the expected Lancers, the meet started off with a pleasant surprise in the cage. Junior Ryan Carroll (36'-2.5") led senior captain Jameson Macnaught (35'-0") on a shocking 2-3 finish the placed Norton in a strong position at the beginning of the meet. That position looked even more promising after junior Paul Wisnaskas (8.43) and James Partridge (9.48) maneuvered another 1-3 split in the 55m hurdles to grab six points in the event.
Even though D/S swept the 55m dash, Sean Wynne (4:57.17) ran a gutsy mile to put a scare into D/S's #1 but still managed to pull away with a second place finish. Coupled with Wisnaskas (1:30.11) taking the 600m outright by a lean, Norton stayed within sight of the Raiders. The damage was further minimalized by senior captain Ethan Tetrault (2:59.37) and Aiden Masse (3:12.77) earning second and third place points in the 1,000m.
Yet, the wheels started to fall off. D/S swept the 300m and earned a controversial 1-2 finish in the 2 Mile as Derek Bamford (11:42.91) stayed in clear sight ahead of the D/S #2 and #3 runners. However, the #2 runner appeared to finish the race a lap early and officials did not disqualify the runner, leaving Bamford to settle with third place points.

Girls (3-0)
The Lady Lancers left nothing to chance against D/S, grabbing points in every event to ensure the victory. Right from the start, it was a clean sweep in the 55m hurdles, led by the consistency of Heather Kurland (9.53), followed by Shaylee Owens (10.33) and Maddie Dolack (10.50) who both continue to improve on the season. And for good measure, senior captain Eve Rodriguez (7.89) made it close in the 55m dash, with a photo finish giving the edge to D/S, forcing Rodriguez to settle for second, while matching her season's best time.
On the oval, Megan Cross (5:56.76) controlled the mile comfortably to take the W while classmate Skye Goba (6:02.15) utilized a patiently-timed kick to make it a 1-2 finish for the Lancers, as she earned a season's best in the process. A sandwich 1-3 finish in the 600m was expected as Isabella Pietrasiewicz (1:42.49) narrowly missed her personal best to grab the comfortable win. While for third, it was a surprise in Rodriguez (1:55.35) earning a varsity point in her first ever 600m run. Rodriguez kept busy on the day on the oval and infield, as she capped her evening with a first place finish in the high jump, after reaching 4'-6".
Meanwhile, in the cage, the Lancer throwers executed the second sweep of the meet. Michaela Whiteside (28'-4") did not have her strongest day but it was still plenty to take the event, extending past second place and teammate Erica Ransom (26'-9") by nearly a foot and a half. Senior captain Krystal Macdonald (18'-11.5") found her way into the shot circle for the first time in her career and earned a varsity point in the process.
Similar to Goba's kick, Destiny McGrath (3:36.04) had a similar tactic and saved her kick for the last lap, putting in enough separation to grab the win in the 1,000m. Not to be outdone, Ali Murphy (43.80) continued her dominant freshman season in running to a personal best in the 300m, bettering her state-qualifier, and leading the way for Heather Kurland (44.46) to a season's best in the process in grabbing third place.
The last sweep of the day came in the two mile, as D/S opted to not field any competitors. Pietrasiewicz (12:02.20) comfortably led the way for Shea Podbelski (13:33.21) and Ashley Johnson (14:38.06) who both earned varsity points in their first running of the event. It set the stage for the 4x400m squad of Lindsey Bingel, Kylie Dion, Cross and Murphy (4:32.06) to grab a safe first place finish to close out the night.
