Murphy Breaks 400 Meter School Record in Route to Girls Win Over DS and Lady Lancer Track Moves to 3-0!; Boys Fall to Tough DS Team.

Congrats to the girls team who won 90.50-45.50 over a solid Dover-Sherborn Raider team who also came into yesterday's meet undefeated in what will most likely be the final track meet contested at the current Norton High School facility as there will be a renovation to the track and field facility starting next year. The Norton girls are now the only undefeated team left in the TVL Small with a record of 3-0! The girls look to stay undefeated as they take their talents to Bellingham next Tuesday.

We would like to give a special congratulations to Ali Murphy who broke the 400 Meter School Record from 2016 (previously held by Isabella Berardi - 59.46) with the new record of 58.7!
Senior Captains Heather Kurland (13 points), Michaela Whiteside (10 points), and Bella Pietrasiewicz (10 points) lead the way for the Lady Lancers in their big win over the Raiders.
Unfortunately the boys were beaten by a very strong Dover-Sherborn team 49-87. With a significant injury to Norton's top athlete & point scorer, Paul Wisnaskas (not being able to run or jump), the boys were behind before it started unfortunately. The boys look to bounce back next week when they travel to Bellingham High School to take on the Blackhawks on Tuesday!

Keep an eye out on the right side of the website for the auto-qualifiers for the State Meet. The standards came out this week so those will be updated with each meet we attend going forward!

Finally, I (Coach Taylor) would like to thank the NHS Track parents AND athletes for supporting my brain cancer journey with so much heart and tenacity. The girls wearing the grey ribbons in their hair and the boys wearing the grey bandanas and everyone wearing the Brain Cancer Awareness bracelets means more than I could ever describe in words. I am so very blessed to do what I love (coaching) and be surrounded by so much support and love. Coaching is one of the most important things I fought so hard this past year to get back to.
