Saturday, the Lady Lancers took home SIX medals from the Freshmen Sophomore meet. Of the ten ladies that participated in the meet 7 placed within the top ten in their event, not en easy feat with the quantity of larger schools present. Overall the day may have begun cloudy but it ended with several PR's and a promise of a bright future for the Lady Lancer track program.
Kassidy Campbell, freshman, placed fifth overall in the high Jump and second in the 100M Hurdles, to be the only two medal earner from the lancer team. Sophomore, Erin Kennedy placed third overall in the triple jump, jumping a season's best 32'5". Ashley Pelletier threw a personal best in the javelin, 92'10", which clinched a fourth place medal for the freshman. Shannon O'Rourke, sophomore, placed sixth in the shot put, and eightieth in the discus. Marissa Amato, a freshmen javelin thrower, placed seventh overall, showing the lancers dominance in the event. The 4x100M relay team, comprised of Micayla Valeri, Erin Feeney, Kayla Sicard and Alison Dufault, placed sixth taking home their first medal of the year as a team. Jessica Greco placed twenty-second in the two mile, running the distance in 13:21.39.
The young lancers are looking forward to the next two, or three years of success for the team!
