Congrats to the Norton boys track team who won their season opener 80-56 over TVL foe and perennial powerhouse Westwood. The Wolverines were leading after the first 10 events, but when the field events started coming in, the Lancers took a hold of the lead and never looked back.
Leading the way for the Lancers in varsity points (see side of website for full list of point getters) was Kevin O'Leary winning the javelin with a league leading mammoth throw of 163'0", coming in second in the 100 and grabbing a second in the high jump.
Behind O'Leary in points with 7.25 was junior Zac Sicard winning the 100, a member of the winning 4x100 relay, and came in 3rd in triple jump.
FRESHMAN PHENOM Justin Ireland also scored 7.25 points winning the 200, a member of the winning 4x100 relay, and came in 3rd in the long jump.
Senior and rookie newcomer to Norton track, Andy Nartowicz, won the long jump with a big leap of 19 feet 3 inches.
Senior captain Danny Rafuse took home the 5 point win in the triple jump with a 40'5" jump.
