Congrats to the Norton indoor boys track team who hosted their first ever meet at HOME at Wheaton College! The boys beat both Medfield (54-32) and Medway (62-24). The boys margin of victory over Medfield was their largest against the Warriors in the history of the boys program.
Lead by 'the beast' Mike Tierney (24.50 points), Senior Captain Kevin O'Leary (20 points), sophomore Justin Ireland (20 points), and Senior Captain Brandon Durocher (14.50 points), the Lancers were able to close the door on both teams early before the 1000 meter when the high jump results came in. The full varsity squad 4x400 meter relay of Marcotte, Sullivan, Durocher and Tierney posted a league leading relay time of 3:44.1.
Other notables on the day included league leading Cam Stalters with his double win the 55 hurdles, Justin Ireland's double win in the sprints (55 & 300), Kevin O'Leary's HUGE throw of 41'7",and Max Marcotte's impressive 1000 meter time of 2:46.3 this early in the season.
The Norton boys are hungry and want to win their first ever TVL Indoor Championship. Will they do it? Let's all keep an eye out and keep rooting for our Lancer team this Saturday at 9:00 am at Wheaton College when they face an impressive ever-growing Bellingham Blackhawk team!
