Girls DMR Destroys School Record From 2007 and Places 2nd Overall at State Relays; Girls ShotPut Relay, Boys Shuttle Hurdle Relay, & Boys High Jump Relay All Grab 6th Places!

THREE School Records were either set or broken at the Division 3 State Relays this past Sunday. The girls Distance Medley Relay of Bella Pietrasiewicz (1200), Kylie Dion (400), Katie Bradley (800), and Julia Palin (1600) broke the exisiting school record (previously held by Stacey Allen, Sarah Regan, Amanda Sargent, Grace Kennedy) of 15:25.2 from 2007 with a 13:03.27! The girls grabbed 8 points and a second place at the relays with this performance.

The other teams who placed and medaled on the day were the girls shotput team of Meg Nichols, Michaela Whiteside, and Carly Landry with a combined performance of 25.30 meters. 

Girls Shotput Relay Places 6th Overall 
Another team who medaled on the day was the boys Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Paul Wisnaskas, Corey Stalters, Matthew Berard, & Peter Rivard with a 1:10.66.

The final team who placed at the D3 Relays was the boys High Jump Team of Paul Wisnaskas, Pat Bingel, & Alex Wisnaskas with a combined  4.96 meters.

Two teams set new school records as well. The girls 4 x 1600 team of Julia Palin, Bella Pietrasiewicz, Katie Bradley, & Hannah Delea set the new school record with some very fast mile times including Julia's 5:11!  They ran a combined 22:53.23. 

The boys Distance Medley Relay also established a new school record with Pat Bingel (1200), Ian Pereira (400), DJ Nihill (800), & Austin Carroll (1600) with a combined time of 11:35.60.

7th Overall - Girls 4x200 (Julia Newell, Kirsten Loring, Alexa Sousa-Shumosic, & Heather Kurland) 

7th Overall - Boys 4x200 (Ian Pereira, Sam McGrath, Peter Rivard, & Paul Wisnaskas) 1:37.35

8th Overall - Girls Shuttle Hurdle Relay (Mary Diestel, Hannah Delea, Julia Newell, & Madeline Dolak) 1:14.59 

8th Overall - Boys 4x1600 (Austin Carroll, Pat Bingel, DJ Nihill, & Thomas Bingel) 19:29.47

17th Overall - Girls Discus Relay (Meg Nichols, Michaela Whiteside, & Caroline Daly) 57.68 Meters 

23rd Overall - Boys  Shotput Relay (Aiden Morris, Justin Charles, & Kalman Baker) 26.80 Meters

Shelter!!  It was quite the rainy & wet day! 
Norton will next compete in a duel meet against the Westwood Wolverines this Wednesday, May 2nd on SENIOR DAY as it is our last home meet of the season at 3:30!
