Boys Settle For 3rd at TVL Championships; Injuries and Sickness Win Out....

After working on all cylinders this past Sunday winning the State Relays, the Lancers boys could not keep the intensity going through the TVL championships.  With a combination of 4 of Norton's best athletes pulling up with injuries or fighting sickness, the boys had to settle for 3rd place overall.

Some highlights on the day included: 

Kevin O'Leary broke his own record in the javelin with a huge toss of 176'6" to become the TVL Champion!

Joey Annand continued his decorated rookie season winning the freshman mile with a time of 4:53.56.

Senior Captain Paul Schleicher placed 2nd overall in the discus with a personal record toss and almost school record of 138'1".

Junior Cam Stalters placed 2nd overall in the javelin (150'0") and 3rd overall in the 110 hurdles with a 16.22.

Josh Kelleher was 2nd overall in the triple jump with a leap of 41'3.50".

Mike Tierney was 3rd overall in the high jump with a 5'10" leap, and also 5th overall in the 400 meters posting a 53.93.

Justin Ireland was 3rd in the long jump with a PR jump of 19'5", and 4th overall in the 200 meters with a 23.75.

Zach Sicard was 3rd overall in the triple jump (41'2") and 6th overall in the long jump (19'0.5").  

Both relay teams placed 3rd overall: 4x100 - Zach Sicard, Justin Ireland, Adam Winairz, & Camden Cleathero - 45.96, 4x400 - Max Marcotte, Sean Cappellini, Parker Cleathero, & Chris Wrenn - 3:42.14.

4th - Max Marcotte - 800: 2:01.31
4th - Brandon Durocher - High Jump: 5'10"
6th - Adam Winiarz - 200: 23.80
6th - Chris Wrenn - 400: 53.96

Norton boys will next compete at the Division 4 State Championships on May 31st at Durfee High School at 9:30 am.
