MASSACHUSETTS STATE RELAY CHAMPIONS AT LAST........

Lancer Boys Win the Division 4 State Relay Championships

What a day for Lancer track.  After being runner up in 2 out of the last 3 years, the boys finally took home the Massachusetts D4 relay title for the first time in program history! With a combined effort of 18 Lancer boys, 5 school records, and 8 out of 9 relays placing for points, the boys scored 58 points, 14 points more than both Stoneham & Randolph for the victory. The boys had 2 state relay champion teams!  Starting with the javelin, Kevin O'Leary, Cam Stalters, & Alex Buchan DESTROYED the old school record by over 22 feet, previously held by Kevin O'Leary, Joe Colley, & Cam Stalters (2012).  The old record was 431'3" and the new record is 453'9", good enough for best javelin relay in the entire state!

The second team to win a state relay title was the high jump team of Kevin O'Leary, Camden Cleathero, & Brandon Durocher.  They not only won the title, but also broke a school record, previously held by Kevin O'Leary, Jon Pummer, & Steve Burrill (2012) of 16'6.75".  Kevin, Camden, & Brandon combined for 16'11.5" for the win!

2nd Place: Shuttle Hurdle Relay-Cam Stalters, Brandon Durocher, Elliot Ariola, & Alex Carignan - 1:06.85 

2nd Place: Triple Jump Relay-Zack Sicard, Josh Kelleher, & Adam Winiarz - 120'7.75" **SCHOOL RECORD (previously held by Danny Rafuse, Josh Kelleher, & Ben Donovan 2012 with a 120'1.5") 

3rd Place: Long Jump Relay-Zack Sicard, Josh Kelleher, & Justin Ireland - 55'9" 

3rd Place: Discus Relay-Paul Schleicher, Kevin O'Leary, & Cam Stalters - 334'4" **SCHOOL RECORD (previously held by Paul Schleicher, Tyler Durocher, Nick Jenkins 2012 with a 325'9") 

3rd Place: 4x400 Relay - Max Marcotte, Mike Tierney, Parker Cleathero, & Chris Wrenn - 3:34.12

4th Place: 4 x 1 Mile - Max Marcotte, Mike Tierney, Joey Annand, Chris Wrenn - 19:16.24 **SET SCHOOL RECORD

Norton track will next compete at the TVL Championships this Wednesday for their chance at the 2014 TVL title! The meet will be at Westwood High School starting at 3:30.
