A very, very special congratulations to Senior Kevin O'Leary who is Norton's first male New England Champion. He threw a gargantuan PR & school record toss in the javelin of 191 feet and 6 inches, a PR by 11 feet 6 inches for the victory! Kevin now joins the company of Kelly Allen (2009) as the only New England Champions from Norton High.
Kevin fouled on his first two throws in the prelims and was forced to throw a big one just to get into the finals. He uncorked a 191'6" to make it into the finals. Just to place in the top 6, Kevin would have had to throw at least a 1 foot PR......and boy did her ever! He is one of the most clutch athletes Norton track and field has had in the last 7 years. Congrats Kevin on a great season and becoming New England CHAMPION!
Kevin will be attending Mass Maritime next year and will be doing track and field there.
