Norton Boys Track Takes Down Hopkinton by the Largest Margin in School History 62-24!

Congrats to the Norton boys team who stay the only undefeated team left in the TVL at 7-0 after beating previously undefeated Hopkinton by the largest margin of victory in school history 62-24!

4 school records were broken on the day! Cam Stalters broke Ben Donovan's (11-12) school record in the 55 hurdles with a blistering 7.8! Both Abu Ceesay and Justin Ireland broke Justin's record from earlier this year of 6.5 with a 6.3! Finally, Joey Annand, after winning the mile, comes back in the 2 mile and breaks Billy Sullivan's record from 2012-2013 with a 10:23.0!  Congrats to all the record breakers!

As for the meet, Norton was in control from the start.  The hurdle team swept the event 9-0 with undefeated Cam Stalters taking first, Camden Cleathero placing second and Alex Carignan with a big PR placing 3rd! Norton then went 8-1 in the 55 dash with the best two sprinters in the league Abu Ceesay and Justin Ireland taking the score to 17-1 after 2 events. Norton never looked back after that. Mike Tierney won both the High Jump (5'8") and the 600 meters (1:31.7).  Abu Ceesay came back in the 300 with another win.  Chris Wrenn posted the 3rd fastest time in the TVL this year with a 2:43.0 in his win in the 1000 meters. The Norton 4x400 team remains undefeated on the season through 7 meets.  Yesterday's team members Sean Cappellini, Parker Cleathero, Adam Winiarz, and Chris Wrenn took home the victory easily.

2nd 1 Mile - Joey Annand (4:43.3)
2nd 600 Meters - Parker Cleathero (1:32.5)
2nd High Jump - Camden Cleathero (5'8")
3rd High Jump - Cam Stalters (5'6") 
3rd 1000 Meters - Ian Pereira (2:51.4)
3rd 2 Mile - Jordan Lach (11:30.5)

Norton looks to make a statement at the Division 4 State Championship RELAYS this coming Sunday, January 18th at 9:30 am at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston!
