Norton Girls and Boys Bring Home 12 Medals & a Plaque from MSTCA Frosh/Soph Meet!!

A huge congrats to the Norton girls and boys teams who took home more hardware than any other school from the MSTCA Frosh/Soph Meet (Small Schools - Divisions 3-5)!

The girls had a banner day bringing home 8 with Brooke-Lynn Williams and Bella Berardi leading the way! Brooke-Lynn won the 55 dash (7.44), was 5th in the long jump (15'3"), and had the fastest leg of the 3rd place 4x200 meter relay team which was enough to bring home the plaque for "Overall Athlete of the Meet"! Bella Berardi was on her game as well also picking up three medals winning the long jump by over a foot (16'9.5") and coming in 4th in the 300 (44.07) and also being a member of the 4x200 relay team.

The 4x200 team of Brooke-Lynn Williams, Bella Berardi, Jess Cappadona, and Liz Dufault placed 3rd overall with a time of 1:56.07.

Katie Bradley shattered her own school record by 6 seconds in the 2 mile coming in 2nd with a time of 12:00.49.

The girls 4x400 meter relay team of Julia Palin, Kambrynn Bowman, Mary Deistel, and Katie Bradley took 2nd overall with a time of 4:24.84.

Congrats to all the frosh/soph who qualified for and ran/jumped/threw at this meet!

23rd Overall - Emily Carlson (55 Hurdles) - 10.71
24th Overall - Emily Carlson (High Jump) - 4'4"
36th Overall - Ali Whitman (600) - 1:58.05
42nd Overall - Alyssa Eckstrom (55 Hurdles) - 11.29
43rd Overall - Elizabeth Dufault (300) - 49.35
52nd Overall - Morgan Nicholson (1 Mile) - 6:28.45
54th Overall - Jessica Cappadona (55) - 8.47

On the boys side, the 4x400 team of Dan Salvo, Joey Annand, Ian Pereira, and Andrew Raneri placed 1st overall in convincing fashion winning by 10 seconds with a 3:50.96.

Joey Annand placed 2nd overall with a blistering 4:39.88 in the mile.

Ian Pereira placed 5th overall in the 1000 with a personal record 2:51.16.

Andrew Raneri placed 5th overall in the high jump with a leap of 5'4".

Again, congrats to all the frosh/soph who qualified for and ran/jumped/threw at this meet!

Norton will next compete in a double duel meet tomorrow (this Tuesday- January 6th versus Medfield and Bellingham)!
