Boys Perform Well at MSTCA Decathlon South!


     The 3-man team of senior captain Cameron Stalters, Camden Cleathero, and senior captain Mike Tierney placed 4th overall as a team at the MSTCA Decathlon South (all divisions) this past Monday and Tuesday!  The top 8 teams were as follows: 

1.) North Attleboro - 15762
2.) King Phillip - 15589 
3.) Milford - 15430 
4.) NORTON - 15026 
5.) Bourne - 13106 
6.) Carver - 12735
7.) Oliver Ames - 11842
8.) Duxbury - 10702 

The Norton boys came in a respectable 4th place overall as a team.  The three schools ahead of Norton were division 2, while Norton finished as the top division 4 team. 

As individuals, the boys did great!  Top 15 athletes earned a MSTCA State Decathlon Championship t-shirt, and all 3 boys earned a t-shirt! Individual placements are as follows: 

6th Place Overall - Cam Stalters - 5171 
10th Place Overall - Camden Cleathero - 4998 
13th Place Overall - Mike Tierney - 4858 

Mike Tierney posted the fastest 400 meter time of all the decathletes with a 51.63.  He also posted the fastest 1500 meter time with a 4:26.06.  Cam Stalters threw the furthest of any athlete in the javelin, tossing it for 49.58 meters (162 feet)!

Norton heads to Saco, Maine for the New England Championships this Saturday!
