New England CHAMPION Abu Ceesay Wins the 100 Meters & Places 2nd in the 200; 6 Other Norton Athletes Shine at New Englands!


What a day for Norton junior Abu Ceesay at the New England Championships Saturday! Abu placed 1st overall in the 100 meters with a lighting fast time of 10.56!  This is a new school record and the best time in New England ALL YEAR! He is currently ranked 35th in the USA. 

Abu also came back later in the day after anchoring the boys 4x100 team of Justin Ireland, Camden Cleathero and Adam Winiarz to an 8th place finsih and then ran the 200 with the fastest time in Massachusetts this year 21.40 for 2nd place overall. He also set a new school record in this event! The 4x100 meter team ALSO set the school record! 






Having another great showing for the Lancers was sophomore Brooke-Lynn Williams.  Brooke-Lynn placed 6th overall in the 200 meters (25.16) and 10th overall in the 100 (12.35)!  



Bella Berardi placed 10th overall in the long jump with a leap of 16'8.75".  


Adam Winiarz placed 16th overall in the 200 meters with a time of 22.66. 

Finally, Cam Stalters placed 21st with a toss of 158' 3". 

It was an incredible season for the Lancers, but they have one more to go!  Brooke-Lynn Williams and Bella Berardi are heading down to NATIONALS in North Carolina this weekend to compete in their respective events.  Good luck to both of those girls!
