The girls track and field team started the season off strong with two wins and one loss this past week. They were thrown right into what might be the toughest league meet of the season against Hopkinton, losing that one 49-37, but came back with two convincing wins against Bellingham and Ashland. The girls beat Bellingham 60.5-25.5 and Ashland 59-18.
On Saturday against Hopkinton and Bellingham first place finishers included Brooke-Lynn Williams in the dash and 300M, Katie Bradley in the 600M and 2 mile, Danielle Whitman in the high jump, Kambrynn Bowman in the 1000M, Emily Carlson in the hurdles against Bellingham, and the 4x400M team of Bella Berardi, Kambrynn Bowman, Julia Palin and Kirsten Loring beat Bellingham.
In the meet against Ashland our first place finishers were Emily Carlson in the hurdles, Brooke-Lynn Williams in the dash, Kambrynn Bowman in the mile, Julia Palin in the 600, Danielle Whitman in the high jump, Katie Bradley in the 1000M and both the 4x400M (Bradley, Palin, Bowman, Berardi) and 4x200M (Williams, Belcher, Browne, Loring) relay teams placed at the top while also qualifying for States.
States qualifiers from both meets include:
