Wrenn Shatters 600 Record, Cleathero Ties High Jump Record in Win Over Ashland

The Norton boys improved their unbeaten streak to 3 wins after beating the Ashland Clockers 67-19. 10 athletes and 2 relays qualified for states in this meet!

Camden Cleatheo Ties the School Record in the High Jump with a Leap of 6'0"!
Senior Captain Chris Wrenn shattered the school record (previously held by Mike Tierney (14-15) 1:25.35) with a 1:24.3!  Chris also anchored the 4x400 winning relay team with a 51.9 split.  Senior Captain Camden Cleathero tied the school record (Brian Desmond 08-09) in the high jump with a mammouth leap of 6 feet even.  Camden also won the 55 hurdles with a state qualifying time of 7.9.

Other first place finishers on the day were Abu Ceesay (55), Justin Ireland (300), Joey Annand (2 mile), Alex Buchan (shotput), and the 4x400 meter relay team of Nick Reynolds, Parker Cleathero, Sean Cappellini, and Chris Wrenn.

State qualifiers (see right side of website) on the day included: Camden Cleathero (55 hurdles & high jump), Alex Carignan (55 hurdles), Abu Ceesay (55 dash), Chris Wrenn (600), Sean Cappellini (600), Parker Cleathero (600), Justin Ireland (300), Eddie Mercardo Jr. (300), Andrew Raneri (High Jump), and the 4x400 meter relay.

Norton next competes at the MSTCA Winter Festival Meet this coming Saturday at 9:30 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
