Norton Boys Beat Hopkinton Hillers 82.5-44.5; Wrenn, Annand, Ireland, Cleathero All Double Winners!

Wrenn posts a league leading 400 time of 51.0 in the 400 Meters
In a great effort against a very tough Hopkinton Hillers team, the Lancer boys pulled off a great victory 82.5-44.5.  The score does not indicate how close the meet was/could have been.  With the first two events going the way of the Lancers, it just seemed like it was going to be their day.  Colin O'Leary pulled off the upset (on paper) in the 400 hurdles taking down the #2 ranked runner in the league with a new #2 time this year breaking a minute for the first time in his career with a 59.6!  Right after that event, the boys caught a break with one of the best sprinters in the league false starting for Hopkinton, and Norton taking a 6-3 in the 100 meters.  Then in the mile, the rivalry between Joey Annand and Brian Gao ensued as Joey was able to take home the victory and then come back in the 2 mile and cruise to a first place finish, with teammates Austin Caroll and Thomas Leclaire placing 2nd and 3rd for the sweep.
Senior Colin O'Leary Wins the 400 Hurdles in a very tough matchup
Chris Wrenn did one of the toughest doubles I have ever seen an athlete do as he posted a league leading 51.0 in the 400 and came back less than 15 minutes later to lead the sweep of the 800 with Ian Pereira and Sean Cappellini right behind him.
400 coming in strong

All 4 athletes in the varsity 400 heat broke 53 seconds!!
Justin Ireland was stellar on the day winning the 100 and long jump and in a virtual tie in the 200, losing by inches to Cuthbert, bringing home 13 points for the Lancers.  Camden Cleathero also scored 13 points as he cruised to victory in the 110 hurdles, and had a big leap in the high jump of 6 feet, 2 inches, while placing 2nd in the triple jump (with it going to the second jump due to a tie with Pucci from Hopkinton for their best jump).

Alex Buchan stayed undefeated on the season in the javelin with another big toss, while Deven Schuko threw for a big PR of 144 feet.

Uncontested, the 4x400 of Nick Reynolds, Griff McLaughlin, Sean Cappellini (also 3rd in the 800 earlier), & Parker Cleathero brought home the victory.
