Norton Decathletes Place 5th Overall as a Team at the MSTCA Decathlon South; Camden Cleathero 6th Overall, Justin Ireland 12th!

Congrats to the Norton boys decathlon team of Camden Cleathero, Justin Ireland, and rookie Griff McAlear who placed 5th overall at the MSTCA Decathlon South yesterday at Bishop Feehan High School. The decathlon south consists of all participating schools south of the Mass Pike, all divisions.

The top 8 team scores yesterday were as follows:

3rd - Dighton-Rehoboth - 14551
4th - Wareham - 14430
5th - NORTON - 14224
6th - Monson - 13086
7th - Bourne - 13036

Individually, Camden Cleathero placed 6th overall with 5377 in an incredibly talented and deep field this year of 69 athletes. Justin Ireland placed 12th overall with 5050 points.  Both Camden and Justin earned the coveted top 25 decathlon t-shirt! Newcomer to the decathlon, rookie Griff McAlear, who placed 3rd overall at the State Championships in the Pentathlon, was able to grab 43rd overall in his first decathlon ever with a very respectable 3797 points.
