Williams Breaks All-Time Massachusetts Record in the 100; Annand Breaks Mile Record Again at ALL-STATES, As Does Girls 4x800!


In spectacular fashion at the MIAA ALL-STATE Meet this past Saturday, Brooke-Lynn Williams broke not only the school record and the MIAA All-State Meet record, she broke the ALL TIME MASSACHUSETTS RECORD in the 100 meters (11.89).  In other words, she is officially the fastest sprinter ever born in Massachusetts!! BLW also placed an amazing 2nd overall in the 200 meters with a 24.48.  She will compete in the 100 & 200 at the New England Championships this coming Saturday at Willow Brook Park in New Britain, Connecticut.

Also breaking a school record was Norton junior Joey Annand, who broke his own record from last week of 4:29.90 with a 4:29.08, placing 13th overall in the state.
Justin Ireland pulled in one last medal on the season placing 7th overall in the 200 meters with a 22.67.  He also placed 9th overall in the 100 meters with a 11.30.
Placing 17th overall, the 4x800 team of Katie Bradley, Kambrynn Bowman, Julia Palin, and Allie Freedman ran a 3 second PR of 9:49.79, breaking the school record AGAIN this season.
Congrats to all the athletes who qualified for and competed at the All-State Championship, an amazing feat.  All other NORTON placements on the day included:

12th Overall - Alex Buchan (Javelin) 158' 6"
15th Overall - Katie Bradley (1 Mile) 5:19.52
16th Overall - Bella Berardi (400 Meters) 59.96
16th Overall - Justin Ireland-Justin Martins-Camden Cleathero-Jeff Beaucage (4x100) 44.46
17th Overall - Nick Reynolds-Griff McLaughlin-Sean Cappellini-Chris Wrenn (4x400) 3:29.65




Norton boys track heads to Bishop Feehan this Monday and Tuesday with Camden Cleathero, Justin Ireland, & Griff McAlear for the MSTCA Decathlon South.

Norton girls track takes Brooke-Lynn Williams to Willow Brook Park in New Britain, Connecticut for the New England Championships this weekend.
