Holliston: The girls team took on Holliston today in the last meet of the regular season. They lost 75-61 but put up a very good fight in the rain against the Holliston team. The meet, as many of the season was close until the very end.
Meet highlights included:
Kassidy Campbell, who placed first in the 400mH, 100mH and long Jump; but also finished the season with a staggering 129 varsity points.
Shannon O'Rourke placed first in discus and second in shot put adding eight points to her season. Shannon dominated the discus all season and is looking forward to coaches this weekend.
Amy Pereira placed second in the 100 and first in shot put. Amy has been a stand out in the shot put all season long and will also be continuing with her season.
Bekah Sarget placed third in the 100 second in the 400 and second in high jump to complete her last ever regular season meet. Bekah has been a fantastic athlete and leader for the lady lancers.
Ashley Pelletier finished first in the javelin and third in discus today. As a sophomore member of the team she is excited to continue working on her throwing.
Emma Ethier placed third in the 400mH and second in the 100mH. Emma as a senior captain has been a true leader to younger hurdlers, Campbell and Bieksha. She looks forward to competing in the heptathlon.
Marisa Amato placed third in javelin and second in discus. Marisa is a consistent point earner for the lancers.
Erin Kennedy place second in the triple jump today. She has placed first in every other meet this season in this event.
Danielle Whitman, Anya Dilorenzo, Caroline Weber, Cece Browne, Nicole Germano and Molly Bieksha all placed third in their respective events.
The program would like to thank senior captains Katie D'onofrio, Allison an Brittany Alioto, Bekah Sargent, Emma Ethier and Bri Arcaro for their dedication to the program and leadership over the past year.
Katie is one of the only mile runners who smiles with every step. Her light hearted spirit and commitment to the program will be missed
Allison Alioto is an 800m runner who inspires all with her strength. She is a confident leader, who is willing to stand up for her team.
Brittany Alioto was part of the mile crew until an unfortunate discus accident earlier this season. Brittany persevered and was able to come to many of the follow meets. Brittany's courage inspired us all to strive for the best.
Bekah Sargent is a stellar athlete for the lancers who was extremely willing to share her wealth of knowledge about track and field. Bekah is also very calm in situations of pressure, which is comforting to younger athletes.
Emma Ethier is the lancers veteran hurdler who on many days has had to step up to make hurdler workouts and to help the program grow. Emma is fearless and truly dedicated to track and field.
Bri Arcaro had been injured all season but has shown her leadership by supporting the thrower girls all season long. She has also worked as the coaches right hand during home meets.
The seniors will be greatly missed!! We thank you for all of the time and effort you have put fourth into this program! It would not have bed. The same without you. We also wish you the best of luck in the future!
