Norton Pulls Out DOUBLE WINS In Nailbiter Against Medfield! Both Girls & Boys Win 70-66! Palin Breaks Her Own School Record By 3 Seconds in the Mile With a Scorching 5:09.2!

Wow!  Both teams win in the seniors very last duel meet of their careers on a beautiful day in Medfield. Both teams also walked away with the same score: 70-66! Both meets came down to the very last event: the girls discus results coming in where Megan Nichols took first and the boys 4x400 relay winning by 3 seconds for the victory!!

The girls ended the duel meet season with a record of 5-1 and placed second in the TVL Large Division.  The boys finished with a 3-3 record and placed 3rd in the TVL Large Division.

Julia Newell lead the way on the girls side in this one with 13 points winning both the 100 & triple jump as well as grabbing a second in the long jump! Also with victories on the day for the girls were Mary Diestel in the 400 Hurdles & High Jump (with a 3rd in the 800 in her first time doing it this season!), Meg Nichols in the Discus & Shotput, Kirsten Loring in the 200 and 4x100 (along with relay teammates Eve Rodriguez, Alexa Sousa-Shumosic, and Heather Kurland), Kylie Dion in the 400, and of course Julia Palin in the 1 Mile with a scorching fast 5:09.2! Julia Palin paced her way alone, once again, to another SCHOOL RECORD (previously held by herself from earlier this season of 5:12)!

Winners on the boys side included: Paul Wisnaskas in the 400 Hurdles, 110 Hurdles (and third in the high jump), Ian Pereira in the 100 & 400, Corey Stalters in the javelin (and 2nd in the 110 hurdles), Peter Rivard in the 4x100 (as well as 2nd in the 200 & long jump) along with teammmates Sam McGrath (2nd 100), Nick Chew, & Chris Liebherr, Austin Carroll in the 1 mile, and the 4x400 Relay team of  Austin Carroll, Thomas Bingel, Pat Bingel, & Aiden Lerner!
