NORTON GIRLS ARE D4 RELAYS CHAMPIONS!!!!

NORTON GIRLS WIN THE D4 TEAM RELAY CHAMPIONSHIP!
BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS POSE FOR A PICTURE AS NORTON SWEEPS THE D4 STATE RELAYS!
With all hearts pounding and a few people screeching (ok maybe that was just a certain excited coach), the girls team was named D4 Relay Champions for the first time in history. That seems to be the theme of this record breaking season!
Brooke-Lynn Williams takes the Baton from Bella Berardi in the 4x200
Amy Pereira in the 4x200
GIRLS 4x200 - Berardi/Palin/Williams/Pereira
We started off with our 4x200 team of Berardi, Williams, Pereira and Palin. They broke the first of many school records placing second in their event, giving us an early jump to 8 points. Next up was the distance medley relay team of Freedman, Berardi, Bowman and Bradley, also breaking the school record and coming in second adding 8 more points to our total. One more second place finish and broken school record on the day came from our shuttle hurdle team of Campbell, Sicard, Carlson and Bieksha.
GIRLS SHUTTLE HURDLE RELAY - Carlson/SIcard/Campbell/Bieksha
GIRLS SHUTTLE DASH - Bowman/Williams/Browne/Pereira
Next up was our shuttle dash relay of Williams, Browne, Bowman and Pereira placing third. On e again our amazing long jump trio of Campbell, Berardi and Williams knocked their opponents out taking first place making our total 40 points.
HIGH JUMP RELAY - Campbell/Whitman/Sicard
Kayla Sicard Approaches the High Jump
Once again the pressure came down to our high jumpers. Could they hold out long enough to keep last years champions Pembroke from winning again when they had 41 points to our 40? The answer was of course yes!! Assuming the other Pembroke girls had jumped decent heights we thought their final and strongest girl had outdone us. We thought she had done enough to keep us down, but she had not! Our girls prevailed again! Our sad faces quickly turned to smiles (and some tears) when we heard the final results, that seemed like an eternity to hear!
