Senior Captain Cam Stalters Perfect Day Leads Lancers to 105-30 Victory Over Holliston; Boys 4x100 Breaks 25 Year Old Record!

In their second meet of the season, the Norton boys track team looked incredible.  Senior captain Cam Stalters came to play scoring a perfect 15 points in his 3 events and did so with authority.  His toss in the javelin was a league best by over 30 feet with a 167 feet 2 inches.  His 110 high hurdle time was tops in the TVL by over a half second with a 15.6. And finally, his discus throw of 119 feet 7 inches is the second best toss in the league.

In route to their victory, the 4x100 team of Justin Ireland, Camden Cleathero, Adam Winiarz, & Abu Ceesay broke a 25 year old record at Norton High School previously held by the team of Hakim Walker, Robert Latham, Vern Wyatt, & Bumpy Greene from 1990 of 45.3 with a 44.6.

The boys took home the victory in convincing fashion outdistancing the Holliston Panthers by 75 points with a 105-30 score.  The boys took 14 out of 16 first place finishes, many of them being TVL best in those events. Chris Wrenn placed first overall in the 800 with a TVL best 2:05.6 and came back to help the TVL best 4x400 team of Abu Ceesay, Mike Tierney, Chris Wrenn, & Adam Winiarz cruise to victory.  Camden Cleathero PR'ed in the high jump with a soaring leap of 6'0" to qualify for states and secure top spot in the TVL right now. Senior Captain Mike Tierney made a statement at the state level running a 50.8 in the 400 for the top time in the conference.

Colin O'Leary placed 1st overall in the 400 hurdles with one of the best times in the league this year. Sophomore Nick Reynolds placed 1st overall in the 100 meters with a 12.2 and then came back and placed 3rd overall in the 200 with a 24.8! Freshman Ian Pereira took top honors in the mile with a PR of 5:10.6. Sophomore Joey Annand ran the second fastest time in the league in the 2 mile with a 10:28.9.  Justin Ireland had a big day with a smoking fast 23.3 in the 200 and then a #2 jump in the league in the long of 19' 0.5".

The Norton boys will be back in action after April vacation for a duel meet against the WESTWOOD WOLVERINES away on Wednesday, April 29th at 3:30.
