| AND the 100!!! |
On an incredible day for Norton track history, Brooke-Lynn Williams, Bella Berardi, Kambrynn Bowman, and Julia Palin went to the Bridgewater State University campus for the MIAA ALL-STATE MEET with goals in mind. To say these girls achieved their goals would be an understatement. These athletes epitomized heart, tenacity, and inspiration and in doing so, absolutely exceeded their goals!
To start the meet off, Bella Berardi placed THIRD OVERALL in the long jump after being ranked 15th going in! She was the only athletes to advance up the leaderboard (from 9th) in the finals! TO say she is clutch just scratches the surface!
Next up for the Lancers was the dynamic duo of senior captain Kambrynn Bowman and junior Julia Palin in the 800 Meters. Both had VERY strong races with previous school record holder Kambrynn finishing in a very fast time of 2:21.31 and Julia Palin breaking her own SCHOOL RECORD from last week at the Division 4 State Championship with a 2:17.24! Her previous record was a 2:19.02!!
Last, but certainly not least was the QUEEN OF SPEED herself, Brooke-Lynn Williams. She had two very strong preliminary rounds in the 100 & 200 and was able to take them both down for the wins, making more Norton history! BLW ran a 25.85 200 and a 12.04 100!
We could not be more proud of these four Norton track athletes.
Fortunately, two of them are not finished with their seasons as Williams (100 & 200) and Berardi (long jump) will both be competing at the New England Championships at Norwell High School on Saturday, June 10th!
