Girls Sprint Medley Relay Break School Record at Nationals; Palin Places 2nd Overall in 2 Mile in Nationals Emerging Elite!!

On Day 1 at the New Balance Outdoor High School Track and Field Championships, the Norton girls Sprint Medley Relay of Julia Newell (200 leadoff), Kirsten Loring (200 2nd leg), Kylie Dion (400 3rd leg) and Julia Palin (800 Anchor) broke the Norton school Record previously held by Brooke-Lynn Williams, Bella Berardi, Kambrynn Bowman, & Julia Palin from 2017 of 4:16.30 with a 4:15.40. Julia anchored the 800 in a season beat 2:18 and the team placed 20th overall in the emerging elite at Nationals. What an accomplishment on the big stage!

On day 2 in the Two Mile, Julia Palin ran an incredibly smart race in 88 degree weather pacing the first mile at 5:30 and crossing 12th with her patience paying off coming back in a 5:31 second mile and with her kick coming in 2nd overall in the emerging elite 2 mile race at Nationals with a 11:01.89 earning her a 2nd place medal.  What an absolutely incredible accomplishment Julia! Julia will now move on to LSU to run cross country & track and field for the Tigers!
